A trip to Las Vegas is the perfect vacation. There is so much to do and see that you will keep coming back year after year. All it takes is one trip to get you hooked on that Vegas magic.
Planning and research are key to doing Vegas right. Many of the more popular shows and attractions sell out quickly so be sure to arrange your tickets ahead of time. Some of the can't be missed shows in Vegas are:

Compare all the available hotels and resorts before booking. Make a list of what you must have and what you want to have and see which ones come the closest to having it all. There are other things to do besides gambling and seeing shows. Stay at the Montecarlo Hotel and Casino if you like swimming. This hotel has a lazy river pool where you can float away the afternoon on an inner tube. There is also a wave pool. If you have kids they will absolutely love it.
The hotels and resorts in Las Vegas are all competing for your vacation. They know that if you stay with them you will most likely spend money in their casino. This is why they can offer you well priced vacation packages. Midweek stays are almost always cheaper than weekends. You might be surprised to find that you can stay longer if you go midweek.
Doing Vegas right requires that your walking shoes so you can walk from hotel to hotel. Most of the larger hotels are theme hotels that have shows and attractions geared to get you to come inside and gamble. The Bellagio Hotel has free fountain shows, Circus Circus has free trapeze shows, and a volcano show at the Mirage.
Doing Vegas right also means that you should plan to experience some of the great restaurants in Las Vegas while you are there. There are many theme based buffets and restaurants to choose from. If you are planning to go to one of the popular buffets then be sure to get their early or try to eat at off peak times. There might be a long line during peak meal times and on the weekends. You are better off with restaurants that will take your reservation. This way you know that you are assured a table at a preset time.
